Is it possible to control a CC12 with the MRF-260? I'm a DIY'er (now) former URC dealer and don't want to waste my time if it will not work.

Yes and the codes are in the database.

Thanks! I thought so - saw it in the database. Trying to program an MX-450 and there must be at least 20 options. Also there's only one input for IR on the CC12 so the other must be ground?

There are 4 connectors. IR, Control, Ground and 12V. if connecting to an emitter cut off the emitter head and connect the IR and ground. if you want it to set line of sight you need an IR receiver and depending which model it will use all four or IR, Ground and 12V to power the receiver.

I got the CC12 off eBay and am not sure it's working. Does anyone know how to test the unit? I've been through all the IR codes and don't get any blinking IR confirm lights. I know I've got it hooked up correctly.

Is the NC/NO light working? Did you test that? How is the power supply connected? Are you using the Xantech 781ERGPS power supply with it or some other power suppy?

I've got some other 12V DC power supply 1A - got it connected to +12V and GND terminals. NC/NO not hooked up - figured I'd get it talking to the MX-450/MRF-260 first.

Thanks!

if you use a wire to short the NO you will see if the power supply is working as the LED will light up to see if the unit might be defective. Just checking for the MRF-260 the cable from its emitter port to the CC12 should be IR for the tip and ground for the sleeve.

Thanks BobL. Shorted the NO - nothing. Tried again with another (good) power supply and same result. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and purchase new.

Got another eBay special CC12. Same result again - I'm really starting to question myself now (but pretty confidant I got it right). Short N/O to what lead?

Connect the middle lead and the N/O leadoff one of the relays and see if it lights up.

Let's go over basics.

Remote set to the proper code. I have the code as AUX, Xantech, code 283. I haven't tried it on an MX-450 but I hope it is in there. I don't have one here to check.

Make sure remote is set to RF signal is on, RF ID is 0 and emitter is all. MRF-260 is on channel 0. This is only done for testing purposes, you can change it later.

One of the MRF-260 emitters should be wired to the CC12. The tip should be IR and the sleeve goes to ground. If using a URC emitter the silver color conductor is the tip and goes to IR on the CC12, the copper conductor is the sleeve and goes to ground on the C12.

12V power supply goes to 12V and ground on the CC12.

Go into the remote and that device. Try the various codes. I am not sure how it gets mapped in the MX-450 buttons.

The sub-group on the CC12 and codes on the remote should relate and work the CC 12.

There is a code group on the CC12 which can't be changed without a programmer. If your unit is not working I wonder if the code group got changed from the default code group 50 to another code group. The CC12 when shipped from the factory comes set to code group 50 and that is what the URC codes correspond to. Because it is an Ebay model I wonder if it has been changed from the factory. I would also try the other Xantech codes in the data base. I have them as 276-293. I would try those first but you could also try 168-172, 420, 426 and 570.

Thanks BobL!

You've described pretty much what I've been doing. I just find it odd that this is the second CC12 I've got with the same results.

Shorting the N/O, I get no LED activity. I tried three 12V DC power supplies that all test OK with my meter.

I would expect activity in the IR Confirm LED even if the remote code is incorrect - but have never used a CC12 so am not sure this is the case.

I've got a email in to Xantech, maybe it is the code group.

I spoke with a Xantech tech today and got the information needed. Test relay by jumping CI to +12V DC - center LED should light, relay triggers. Mine tested OK. Tech explained that only correct codes will light IR confirm LED. I retested all available codes in the MX450 and did not find a match. Fired up the MX810 Pro Wizzard and setup Xantech CC12 on an MX810. Successfully triggered CC12 on the first try. I'll teach the MX450 from the MX810 - problem SOLVED!

Thanks for the update. Good to know the codes in the MX-450 are bad for this device.
