Can anyone tell me the differences if any between the mx-800 and mx-850 remote controls? I have both and the only difference that I can see is the "sel" button.

Mike.

Pretty much. 800 sel button was pathetic.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Select button and the screen backlight. MX-800 backlight is weird - it backlights the text, not the rest of the screen (which is opposite of the MX-700, incidentially), and is only useful in dark rooms. MX-850 backlight is much brighter and the screen is easier to read when it is used.
