I am configuring my MX-3000 to run this system:

A Sony KDS R70XBR2, Tivo Series 3, PS3 and XBOX 360.

I see most files have Satellite TV or Cable TV controls. Since I run EVERYTHING thru my S3 Tivo I have no need for all of those buttons. I do use DVD controls since the PS3 is a DVD player.
Question: Can I control my PS3 DVD player?
Question: Since all TV runs thru my S3 doesn't this make programming much easier since I would WANT TO eliminate all pages and buttons associated with SAT or CABLE?
Question: I D/Loaded quite a few of the files that are on this site. Most are loaded with many more pages for SAT or CABLE so is it easier to start from scratch or if I like the look of a file do I simply delete all unwanted buttons and pages and work with the remainder?
QUESTION: This is a tough one, how can I learn my first Macro easily? My head was about to explode last night but I didn't give up. I did get my Tivo to work with the MX 3000, the HARD PART will be configuring the Macros. If I can just learn ONE MACRO I think I will be OK.

I don't mean to be a pain in the ass, I could easily PAY to have my remote programmed but that offers no CHALLENGE whatsoever. I want to be able to proudly show off my system and say "I DID IT ALL"
Thanks in advance for any help. I have received several emails and there are quite a few great guys out there I want to thank.

I don't have time to answer all of those questions, and I don't use a MX3000 anyway, but I can tell you that if you save the configuration you have now, you can feel free to delete and re-arrange things anyway you want. Save your work with different names and you can revert back to anything that works after you have screwed it up.

As for the PS3, that is controlled by Bluetooth commands, not IR or RF. Sony made a big mistake there, in the opinion of many. However, you can add the old IR receiver from the early PS2 models and use the USB converter cable, and get many of the basic DVD controls to work via IR. I have done this, since I had an early PS2 and had that part, so solutions are available. Search this forum; I think that's where I found the solution. If not, Google is always your computer friend.

Thanks! I have been working on it for about 6 hours and have set up my Tivo control pages and a basic Audio control page to adjust bass and treble. I now need to try a Macro. This is where I get confused.
BTW: If anyone is willing to spend an hour helping me via the phone I will gladly send some cash via Paypal if its not too much. 813 781 4349

Best Regards,
John
