Are you talking about emitters? Hard to tell exactly what you are having an issue with.

And what does soldering have to do with it?

Hire a professional and it will be done right.

The IR emitters in the MX-850 do not function... i figured perhaps loose soldering joints or replacing the emitters ... but before i go to this extreme perhaps others found an easier fix?

The mx-850 is a remote. An rf base has emitter ports to plug emitters in. I still do not understand what you have

So we are assuming you must be using an MRF base station, since you are talking about RF. In the software, do you have the output that you need set for IR, or could it be set to RF?

Since you've left us guessing, we can't really help you that much. But if you told us what base station you were using, what equipment you were trying to control and what you were trying to control with IR and RF, then off we go.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

OK I guess I am not being clear enough ........

MX-850 x 5 into one MRF-350 base station.

4 remotes and base station working perfectly via the base station and the where IR output is only assigned to the remote.

The one remote where IR output is assigned to the remote is not firing or emitting an IR signal, RF though works fine to the MRF-350. I have not tried to use it to read/learn IR signals so not sure if its the emitters, the IR amp or a bad IR emitter connection internally in the remote - the IR Lamp /amp check fails at startup - but this happens on some of my other remotes that work.

On an aside some of the remotes back light have stopped working (2 of the 5) - any ideas here ?  These are different remotes to the one above.

Hopefully I have now clarified what the problem is :)   !

Im slowly moving this system to a MX-890 based setup and getting to grips with CCP - thankfully its not that dissimilar to the MX-850 editor in some respects.
