I have the combo above.
When I first got them (years back) I could pretty much take the Remote all over the House and control the upstairs Devices.

Now we have to point it to the Base Unit.

I'm not using Flashers.
I have the MRF-300 Base in the same cabinet as all the Devices.
I then have the RX100 Sensor up on top of the Cabinet (unseen).

It won't even work from about 15' away pointing at the side wall (45 Degrees)

Could someone school me on where the Base and Sensor should be placed in the Room?

Thanks

Debbie, do yourself a favor and upgrade that base unit/antenna combo to the MRF-350/RFX-150. Prior to the introduction of the newer units (which are not very new anymore) the old base units and antennas let in all sorts of signal interference. With the MRF-250 and RFX-250, which uses a narrow range, it has a better communication flow with URC remotes that utilize narrow band communication.

That said, there are many rules to observe when placing these units:

- keep at lease 5'-10' high
- keep at least 3-5' from equipment
- keep away from florescent lighting
- keep away from sources of electrical interference
- keep wires away from all of the above

Thanks for the reply.

If I have the MRF-300 is the MRF-250 newer or older then mine?

I read that when you use RF you should put the Base in with the Devices.

I have set the Base RFID to #5 and also made sure it was also set in the CCP.

I was reading on another Post of someone having the same issue but didn't get it solved.

They tried what I tried.
Setting all Devices in CCP to 'RF' only and 'All'.
I get not response at all even on the Sensor.

The only one that get a reaction is 'RF/IR' and 'All' but still need to point it to the Sensor.

Well I just purchased the MRF-350, RFX-250 and another MX-900 in a package.
I can use another Remote like I already have. Doesn't hurt.

Now when I get it..... I think I will try it with the Base in the Cabinet with the Devices first and see how it goes.

Thanks for your help.

The whole idea of the MRF-350 (vs. 260) is that you get to place the antenna that fields the signal AWAY from problematic equipment. If you sent me an email with your contact information (my email is in my profile) I will send you a guide on how to avoid problems by best practice. Often is very easy to swing away from interference and get a good signal, but every so often there is a catalyst (like an alarm or some other type of strong radio wave in the immediate area that can be a real problem.
