Even though I run live update within MX-Editor which indicates it is "Up to date", my last Universal Data is version 2.36 from August 31, 2015.

Does URC still support MX-Editor? If not, what are people using to program the MX-850? I have the CCP software but that doesn't support the MX-850.

Have no choice but to use the editor. Are they still selling the 850 or is it discoed?

It's still listed as available and not discontinued.

I love the additional hard selection buttons compared to the fewer on the new remotes.

Do you think they'll do any updates? I understand URC has pulled some older standalone software off the website.

Of course - I already do that and use IR Scrutinizer to build HEX codes when necessary if provided additional manufacturer information regarding their IR setup. As you know, it's much easier to use the defined codeset by URC than teaching every command which is why I asked the question. The supplied remote controls usually only have a limited feature set instead of all the related zone and advanced IR commands.

The question remains, is URC done supporting the MX Editor? Alternatively, is there an easy way to take updated codesets from my CCP software and export them for use with MX Editor?

URC has stated that as long as a remote is still selling well, they won't discontinue the product.  That should mean that they will support the editor for it as well.  If you are a URC dealer, I would contact your rep and ask them why they are so behind on the mx850 editor update.

I've noticed this with both the MX-700 and MX-850 editors. The latest software version is 15.11.23.1, which corresponds to Universal Data 2.36 from August 31, 2015. (I had assumed that 15.11 meant November 2015, which it might, but the database is clearly older than that.)

It's missing a lot of current Sony Blu-Ray players. I can fill in the gaps with IrScrutinizer if needed, but I was also curious about whether it's no longer supported.

The MX-1200's graphics are incredibly outdated in the "brands" section - no Roku, no Xbox One, no Wii U. Those items have been out for years. Well within the time the 1200 was being produced.

MX-850 & MX-3000 databases haven't been updated in quite a while.

The MX-850 and MX-1200 are still both on the site as current models, even though they have been discontinued. I'm mostly amazed that URC stopped supporting the products well before they were discontinued, per the above details. Meanwhile a few years ago, you couldn't get URC to discontinue an outdated model if you tried. Hell, the MX-850 was essentially the 5th revision of the MX-500, which was out over 15 years ago.

Just out of curiosity, I noticed my Prowizard software for my mx-810 hasn't received a code update in quite some time. I'm assuming URC has stopped supporting this cursed model? yes or no?

Since they're both listed as current models, what does it mean that they're "discontinued"? How/where did URC announce that?

It means they are no longer being produced. Only leftover inventory may be available from distribution or dealers.

I have no idea how or where URC announced it, since they're still on the site and I don't recall reading it in the various newsletters I receive from URC.

Did you ever figure if there was a way to access remote codes from the CCP software? Getting one of their newer remotes used and then loading it with discrete codes might be a way to teach them to an MX850...

That does seem to be the best alternative at this point now that MX-850 Editor Updates are discontinued.
