I have an Integra AV receiver in my garage. It provides music to my backyard. I control it with a remote in the kitchen (MX-900) and the signal goes to a MRF-250 in the garage with a IR eye to the AV receiver.

Currently If I have to turn it on (lets say I am doing gardening), I have to walk all the way to the kitchen, get the remote, turn it on/off. It just as easy to walk to the receiver and manually turn it on and off. Once its on, I stream music to it through Airplay so I can control it all from my iPhone.

Is there a way to integrate things so I can turn it on and off with my iPhone. A manual turning on and off the power will not work because you still have to manually push the electronic power button on the AV receiver.

I don't need a lot of functions for this. Mainly to turn it on and off and as a bonus to adjust volume. But I could even live without that as I can adjust volume to the streaming service on the iphone.

If the receiver is a network receiver with its own app, why are you not using that app to power it on and off?

Are you airplaying via a airport express?
What you need is a mrx2/rfx-250 combo to replace the mrf250 that you have. This will allow you to use the mx900 as you do now, and add the urc mobile app for control as well. You will need to hardwire the mrx2 to your network, and program the mx900 and mobile app seperately (basically two seperate remotes)

Yes I am using airplay.

In another room I have 2 MRF-350's controlling other things. All my remotes can control other MRF units in other rooms.

If I buy this mrx2/rfx-250 combo, How many units of each do I need to buy to replace my 4 MRF units that have IR eyes coming out of all of them to control various devices.

I guess its time to upgrade my system, but am wondering how much all of this will cost me.

I ended up spending $22.00 to get this device

BroadLink RM Mini3 Wi-Fi One in All Universal Remote

This lets me hook into my wifi via smartphone and do some basic controls on my stereo. It has IR learning ability. I needed this because i would not have a remote outside for example and only needed this to turn on the stereo and adjust volume. The I use my iphone to stream Slaker.

With that being said, I would like to upgrade my URC system so that I can use my iphone and have it work over wifi. Can someone answer my previously asked question and let me know what exactly I would have to order to upgrade?
