The MX880Z is a zigbee remote.  It is not compatible with those basestations.  You need the MRF260Z basestation.

yes there is a difference.  The mrf260z is the zigbee base that is compatible with the 880z remote.  the mrf260 is a 418mhz base that is compatible with standard urc remotes.

No they are not the same, the 260i is 433 MHz, you need a zeebee base station.

There someone selling mx-880z with base station on amazon:

You need to understand what you have. You have a zigbee remote. ALL of the URC basestations are either 418 MHz or 433 MHz(models with 'i' in the model #). The ONLY zigbee base URC made is the mrf260z. Your choice is to buy a mrf260z, or sell your mx880z and buy a standard 418 MHz remote to work with your current base.

So, without the "mrf260z" ($190).... the MX880Z is useless (like a rock...)

No, it has IR built in as well. Why are you upset that the remote requires a specific base to communicate sans line of site?
