Hi all,
I've have the 980 for years now and for the most part, I love it.
For anyone with experience with the new 990, is the tactile feel on the button press similar to the 980 or is it "softer and quicker?" I also have the mx850 for the bedroom and I prefer that feel over the 980. The 980 is a bit sluggish when navigating the cursor on some programs.

The 990 is really a sweet looking remote based on the pics. :)

Thanks in advance,
Jose.

Love the 990 - in my opinion it is the sexiest URC remote to date. It's really a great updated version of the 980, which used to be my top seller. I believe the 990 will be the new 980 in terms of forward sales.

How would you compare the feel of the button press between the 2? The 980 feels bit sluggish to me when navigating the cursor.

Hard to say as I have not had that experience from the 980. I think its safe to say that the 990 is a significant improvement over the 980 in my opinion.

I love the MX-990. I just picked one up from Best Buy Magnolia. It is somewhat larger than the 890 and 1200 but has all the buttons anyone would need. The screen is beautiful and the illumination of the hard buttons makes for a nice HT experience. I have 4 remotes programmed for my HT at this moment. I have the MX-890, MX-1200, MX-5000 and now the MX-990. The MX-990 is quickly becoming my favorite of all the remotes I have tested. It is very good looking and very fast during screen changes. It is not as comfortable to hold as the MX-1200 but the extra hard buttons make up for it. Touch screen is fun for a while but I think I prefer the hard buttons in conjunction with the screen as with the 890 and 990.

Im probably gonna upgrade to the mx990 in the near future. I just wished that a best buy near me carried the remote so I can physically get a feel for it. I just hate ordering and returning online.
