I have had these remotes for at least 8 years and well my 900 is wearing out some buttons not responding. But the editor software wont work with the 980? everywhere I look says dealer only for this model?

can I locate somewhere?

Call URC and ask them if you can buy the replacement key pads. There are two for the MX900. It's a common issue and the new pads will fix the issue and is inexpensive.

Yes, The MX-900 Editor software won't work with the MX-980.

The MX-980 has to be programmed by an pro installer with his CCP software, which is not available to consumers.
