Since I only utilize my MX-1200 to control equipment for a single room, I'm finding the selection of "interchangeable buttons" to be lacking in choices. If I recall correctly, I believe URC used to have a custom engraving service for buttons. I can't remember if it related to these buttons for the MX-1200. Regardless, as far as I know, it's no longer available. I'm wondering if anyone is aware of an alternative for obtaining additional buttons or for relabeling the ones included with the MX-1200?

I previously had an MX-3000 so I was used to having a single button marked main which I used for all of my macros (activities and settings). Now with three of these buttons, I'm not quite sure the best way to utilize them. My thinking is to go with one for activities (watch satellite TV, watch Blu-ray, listen to AM/FM, etc.), one for settings (audio settings, video settings, light settings, etc.) with the third one used for a system shutdown (can't think of a better use). Does this sound like a good approach? Anyone have a better idea?

Finally, if I use the three buttons as described above (activities, settings and system shutdown), I would ideally like to have "interchangeable buttons" which reflect these uses. Aside from being able to obtain additional, or relabeled buttons, I'd also have to remove the initially installed "main" button. Anyone had any success with removing it? If so, how did you remove it without damaging the remote?

I would just call URC and see if you can purchase stock extra buttons (extra ones with different words on them came in the box). They have some things in stock that you can purchase like battery door covers etc. The "Main" button is not designed to be removed on that model.

The documentation that came with the collection of "interchangeable" buttons indicates they aren't meant to be removed once placed, however, it also indicates the use of a thin, flat blade should allow for their removal. While the third "main" button isn't mentioned in the documentation, it appears to be the same as the two "interchangeable" buttons so I wonder if it might also be removed, if done carefully?

When you use the term "stock extra buttons", I'm wondering to what you're referring? Blank buttons? If so, do you suggest simply using blank buttons instead of labeled ones or do you know of a way to have them engraved?

Well it looks based on the cut sheet that it came with a variety of pre engraved button options with different things on them. I would call URC.
