So this EXACT system worked fine before? Should work now then.

Win 7 version must be 32 bit to work with the MSC400.

you can use windows 7 64 bit using XP mode.

What virtualization software are you using? Can you see other USB devices physically plugged in on the VM?

when I have tried everything and still can't get it to work, i have found that going into the bios and disabling usb3.0 support has done the trick.

I am using Oracle virtual machine.
I am able to see it as a USB device with the name "OHSUNG Electronics ltd. Universal remote control inc."

Device manager, under Universal Serial Bus Controller the driver shows up as "URC USB SYNC FW" with the yellow triangle

I'm reviving this old thread because I'm having the same issues this thread discusses. I'm using Windows 10 and CCP. I can connect to MX-980 remotes but NOT to my MX-880 remote. I have installed the driver and it shows up like this in Device Manager:

Just FYI, I followed jimbob_sf's instructions (thanks for the excellent post btw). The driver installed is the "URC_USB_Sync_FW1.inf" file located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Remote Control, Inc\Complete Control Program\MX-880\Drivers\Windows Vista\64-bits". The computer shows this message when the remote is connected:

When I try to update the driver by going into Device Manager and using the "Have Disk" method I get the following error message:

I can not get past this issue and would appreciate any assistance.

Thanks,

John

I have been trying off and on for a month to get my personal MX-880 to connect to Windows 10 without success. I appreciate jimbob_sf's original post and used it as my guide. I kept having issues that I was attributing to the lack of a digitally signed driver. I went so far as using the method on this page to permanently disable driver signature enforcement: [Link: windowsreport.com]
(Note that there is also the command to enable driver signature enforcement.)

I was FINALLY able to solve the issue by installing the latest chipset drivers for my mobo from AMD. I just wanted to pass this along and reiterate that the how-to guide at the top of this thread does work.

When I did this, I tried the driver ending in FW1, which is the 64-bit driver, and Windows 10 would not let this driver start, due to known problems. When I use the 32-bit driver, the one ending in just FW, everything loads and connects just fine. Thanks for the guidance.
