All,
I spent numerous hours doing research on this forum and elsewhere and decided to post here as I do not know where to go from here.
The following is my equipment that I have been using since 2006:

URC MX-850 and URC MRF-250 RF base station. All located in a completely enclosed wooden cabinet that houses received, DVD player and etc.

About a year ago I installed a new Comcast HD box PACE RNG110. Since my MX-850 was originally programmed by a professional back in 2006, I kind of let it go without being able to control the cable box with URC remote. Now I wanted to make it easier for my kids to use, I tried to reprogram it for a new cable box and new WiFi BlueRay player. I downloaded a copy of NX-RM820 editor Ver 1.12.230 and had no problem reprogramming new Sony BDP-S5200 BlueRay player. The RNG100 box was a different story. I tried PACE from IR database and the remote would only work here and there. I then saw that recommendation is to use CISCO RNG200 (113). Everything started to work, but just for an hour or so.

Here is what I tried:
1. Swapped for a different cable box, same model as RNG110, but the remote would not control it either.
2.Changed to new IR lead/wire from RF base station = no effect
3.Changed which flasher is being used for the cable control = no effect
4.Tried to move around (within an inch radius of the cable box IR) the location of IR lead that adheres to the cable box = no difference
a.I do know that the IR eye on the box is about an inch from the right side of the box
5.Considering the fact the received and BlueRay are being controlled fine by URC remote, I am assuming that MX-850 and the RF base station are fine
6.When I opened the cabinet and point MX-850 directly at cable box, it does control it
7.Under RF setup in the Editor software, Cable signal is both IR & RF with IR blaster OFF.
a.I tried turning the blaster ON and having RF base station facing the box = still no effect.

Now I am out of options. Sorry to vent, but I spend so much time on this and just can’t stand that I still not able to make it work.

My only other option is to order IR eye similar to what PACE sells on their website. I just ordered this from Amazon:

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions.
Thank you for your help.

Sounds more like you have an RF interference problem caused by that cable box. Very common with an MRF-250. That is why it was replaced with MRF-260 which is almost as bad. The only real cure is an MRF-350 with the antenna placed further away from the equipment.
