Hello I have an older mx-3000 remote and I need the data cable for it. It isn't the USB version, I called urc and they said they carried it for 6 years after they stopped selling that version remote. Please help me...

Oh wow - I truly wish I could help you on this. I know I spent quite a while trying to find a cable that looked like the same thing, or close enough, but don't think I ever found anything. I'll see if I can find my old posts about that.

EDIT - found them... and they're no help. Perhaps someone else knows of a solution.

Used (newer) MX-3000s are dirt cheap and you will be able to use better RF than the old one could. Just an alt idea.

Plus, didn't the screens get better too?

The screens and memory improved dramatically, but I actually still have one of these cables laying around

Wasn't it a DB9 to 3.5mm stereo plug?

No, it was some proprietary plug. I have one of the old mx3000's (no cable) and can post a picture of the port if you'd like.

The plug needed for the early mx-3000 is called a usb mini 4pa. It is included in many of the cheap usb adapter kits.

You are absolutely correct... I just looked through an old set of USB adapters and there is one in there...

I didn't see that anyone replied to this post, I was just searching a few days ago and seen you replied, how much do you charge for the cable? Also I was just told a few days ago that these older mx3000 remotes can only be programmed with computers that have windows xp, is this true or have you ever heard of this? Thank you for all your help

Found my 3000 cable... if anyone really needs it, let me know. otherwise most USB adapter / travel kits come with the correct part.

This website SAYS they have one:
[Link: fishpond.com]
but it's in New Zealand!
The photo shows very clearly what the connector looks like.
I would LOVE it if someone would PLEASE post a close-up of an adapter from a kit which is easily available here in the US, and a link to buy one or the correct cable.
Thanks!

I don't see which one in the kit is supposed to work. please indicate which adapter, i.e. 3rd one from the right, etc. Have you actually bought one and it worked?
There are MANY others who have been looking for weeks and months for this cable, still no good links here or elsewhere. URC cannot help unless you give them a part number. Anybody got a part number?
