We had severe storms in the Northeast last week and had several brown outs and power outages. My Extron crosspoint 300 8x4 component switch went down with a fried power supply. I have a replacement but it does not seem to be responding to any serial commands. Is it possible that one port on the MSC got fried? Everything else is working and responding to commands. I have reset the Extron and spoke with them directly and I do not feel it is the replacement unit. Thanks for any ideas.

If you lost your Extron there's a good chance you could have lost ports on the MSC-400. I will not do a job without a proper UPS. Not only will it eliminate 99% of brown out issues, it's helps with issues you're experiencing now. Unfortunately the MSC-400 might be dead but at least it can be replaced. Do you have the files if needed to upload to a new unit?

Don't know that you'll find a MSC-400 from URC, as they discontinued it a few months back. Better start looking around from distributors.

Thanks guys. I have all the programming and have found a bare bones used one so hopefully it will just upload the programming and the wife will have TV in all rooms again. The nightmare is my wife had knee surgery and is not really mobile. I set her up with a chromecast but she is getting tired of chopped so I may get chopped if I don't get it fixed.
