I have an MX-500 and still think it’s a good remote and prefer to hang on to it a bit longer. I’ve just updated to an Oppo BDP-103 and I can’t find any online reference so far that shows I can control the Oppo 103 with the MX-500. Do you know if it can be done and what the code is, etc?

It's not looking good. That being said, there is no reason you can't manually learn the codes into your remote. There is no discrete power on the OEM remote, but you can macro work around that with Play+power.
does the MX500 allow anything but hand programming and learning? The hex won't do him any good, will it, unless he is firing from another learning remote?
