Is it possible to comment out a line in a macro in CCP, like in DOS or Linux?
Like just insert a particular character at the beginning of the line and the whole line is ignored.

Thanks in advance

As far as I know CCP is all WYSIWYG. You're not dealing with line items that can be commented out and there is no WYSIWYG option to disable a given item under a Macro, but not remove it. I'm sure someone will jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong.

You could create a dummy device with no real data in the object and then alias your commented out commands to it. It's not as simple as // but you can do it.

I'm trying to figure out why you would want to comment out a line. I mean, it's see easy to add a code or delay or anything else in the macro building, it seems like it would take longer to insert an ignore character. Sounds like sloppy programming.

I think you are right lowpro. This isn't a text based programming software like old school AMX or HTML or something.

If you wanted, you could always add an If/then statement and set the conditions so that commented out code would never fire. Seems more trouble than it is work. I guess pressing that pesky "X" delete button is tricky.

Thanks all for your suggestions. The reason I asked was my PVR is going for repair, could take up to 6 weeks. In the mean time I wanted to start over again when my new MX-780 arrives and thought it would be handy to comment out a line here and there. Indeed I can use a dummy device to do that as well.

Thanks again

Really?

File---save as..."Original"

Make changes, delete out dvr codes or just leave them in temp, the codes will fire but there is nothing to respond to the codes.

File---save as... "DVR Service"

DVR is repaired
