I have an MX-880 URC remote, and a Sony PS4.

I still have yet to find some sort of IR solution. Previously for my PS3 I was using the Logitech IR to bluetooth adapter.

I did some searching but all that came up was posts from the initial PS4 launch when nothing was available.

Why would you want to control your PS4 with an IR remote?

To use it as a bluray/streaming player?

Have you tried the Logitech unit with the PS4?

Of all the other controllable BD players out there I have to ask if this is really a good solution?

The PS3 was different as it was the fastest BD player out there back in the day as well as one of the most affordable ones initially. In the age of $99 Sony BDPS1200s which are imminently IR controllable with all the streaming services controlling a PS4 is not necessary.

you assume that all installations are the same.  what if there are space considerations and a bluray won't fit, or he is out of inputs and can't add a bluray player?  i run into situations like that a lot in my installations on yachts.  if i can kill two birds with one stone, i am going to do that.

I play BR so infrequently (physical media is nearly dead for me), but I still want to be able to play BR or a DVD occasionally.

I don't want yet another component in my already packed home theater cabinet.

Most of what I do is streaming based.

I don't think an IR remote solution for the PS4 is really asking too much. The logitech unit does not work.
