Hello,

I've been using a MX-890 for some days now. It worked perfectly up until a few hours ago.

It doesn't seem to be transmitting IR-commands (line of sight) anymore. The device itself works perfectly; pages are shown, buttons can be pressed, the transmitting-icon flashes but the devices don't react anymore. The learning still works, though...

I wil probably work around this nuisance with a MRF-260 base station which will be arriving tomorrow, but it's still a bummer..

Has anyone ever encountered the same problem with a URC remote? And did you solve it by anything but sending it back to URC?

Regards

Here's a trick you can try to see if the remote is sending IR or not.

Use a digital camera (or camera on your phone) and point the remote at it, when you press buttons on the remote, you should see a light flashing from the remote on the camera's LCD screen, which you can not see with the naked eye. That's IR. If there is no light flashing, there is not IR output.

I hope this helps!

Ditto use only and MRF-350.

Check your camera by shining your TV remote at it first. If the IR shows up as white flashing, then check the URC. I've heard that some cameras have IR filters. If yours does, it will mislead you.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
