The older program I have has worked OK up to a point, but that point has passed as I'm now thinking it responsible for the problems I've had with two 850s being bricked (and two emails to URC asking for help with this or for me to send them for repair are being ignored).

The other difficulty is it will not connect on the net to upgrade the library of codes.

So, greatly appreciated if anyone could email me the later program or point to where I could download it. I'm prepared to pay for it if necessary - "consultants fee"??

TIA

Sorry you are having problems, but email is not the proper channel for facilitating repairs or support through URC.

So please point me in the right direction. I'm in Australia so what communication should I use?

Have you tried resetting the remotes? By pressing and holding the STOP & MAIN keys, and waiting for the prompts?

Yes tried that, checked COMM connections, batteries and all the usual ones. Even tried deleting and re-installing the MX850 editor program I have BUT it well might be the cause of the problem as it is a bit crippled and will not connect to the net.

If you want to try a different editor than the one you got, try the nXG from this site:

"will not connect to the net"

Is your issue that you cannot get updated software from the internet, or that your remote isn't recognized by your computer for download?

I'm having both problems Joe.

I have two 850/Aeros remotes refusing to communicate (although others in the house do) + I need to update the library and cannot connect to do that.

I just tried the nXG program and it would not communicate either so it looks like the problems are with the remotes, not the program. I've just tried contacting URC for the third time by email (they ignored the other two) and I've been unable to find an installer who will help with contact to URC (I offered to pay for the service) so I'm still left with two unusable remotes :-(

Back to the Panasonic file set - the MXeditor I have only goes up to Panasonic 17 and I need Panasonic 21. The nXG only goes up to Panasonic 11 so is even less helpful.

Any further suggests gratefully appreciated.

TIA
