Anyone know what code set in the MX850 library would suit a Panasonic p65vt60a TV?

Shortly I will set up a system for a friend (no charge for the time involved) based around this plasma TV (Panasonic's last).

Unfortunately he lives over 200 km away so I'm trying to set up as much as I can in the remote to save time before travelling to him.

I've had problems previously "learning" codes for some devices so hope there is already a set of codes in the MX850 library which will work.

Rather than spend lots of time experimenting with heaps of them from the library I'm hoping someone here can save me time by pointing to the best set.

TIA

John

I know what the code set is for the american version. I own a VT60.

I imagine they are probably the same. In the IR database go to "PANASONIC 21" aka code set 664.

Can you help me understand how 21 equals 664?

Anyone who programs URC on a regular basis knows what I am talking about.

URC adds "Generic" codesets at the bottom of the model list. Generic in that they don't list a model number, but list the manufacturer and a number (i.e. Panasonic 1, Panasonic 2 Panasonic 3...)

Panasonic 13 always had discretes but did not have the rest of the commands (volume, menu, directions buttons...)

So Panasonic 21 is a Generic name and the codeset is 664

Ah, you mean the "setup number" I never really looked at that. What exactly does it reference?

I am very familiar with URC (apparently not completely, as I never really noted the setup number), and as a side note, have to admit, I NEVER find myself diving into the generic db's for devices. I think I have one time in ten years hoping for discrete power for some awful outdoor TV.

Do you find yourself deep in the generics often?

Often, no. Occasionally, yes. Some off brand stuff usually. Back in the day, there were no discrete commands in the codesets tied to model numbers, so you had to use Panasonic 13 (don't remember what codeset it is). Now, the database is more complete than it used to be so I don't use it as much. The newest codesets are often found at the bottom of the model list though, so sometimes it pays to look.

+1 use this the most comes in handy when looking for codes for Blu-Ray players and TV's.

Hmm. I guess I have been very lucky in my collection of db's, pdfs, and gear. =)
It's kept me from the bottom shelf codes.

I am glad that URC finally dumped the new Sharp TV codes and Sony REC Codes in the updates from last couple weeks. The codes were already posted on here (self pat on the back), but maybe it'll reduce the same repeated posts.

What blu-ray codes have you found that might be helpful. Is there a known Tosh or Sammy power codes yet?

Thanks SysIntegration - helpful.

However the library list on the MX850 editor program I have only goes down to "Panasonic 17".

Pardon my ignorance, but where here would I find "Panasonic 21".

TIA

John

EDIT POSTSCRIPT: Tried a Google search and got nowhere, just irrelevant hits, mostly touting sales.
And I must be entering the wrong data in the file library here (my first visit) because I'm not finding it either under "Panasonic 21". "Panasonic VT60" or "code 664".
Again apologies for being such a nubie on this (despite having programmed MX850s etc for over 8 years!!)_

In my version of the mx editor it lists up to Panasonic 22, but 20, 21, and 22 don't respond, can't be saved. 1-19 work fine. I can what's supposed to be in 20, 21, 22 via CCP.

Try Panasonic 13. Then add another model for volume and directions buttons. I assume he'll be using a set top box so the number buttons are probably not needed.

I'm on my phone so can't look up any actual codesets now

Do you have one of those odd versions of mx850 stand alone editor that doesn't update? Go to Help --- About

I am at 14.03.11.1

Mine goes to Generic Pana 22.

I have codes for a Panasonic T-P60ZT60. I learned these from the OEM and have verified discretes. Would hex be easier to post?
