Maybe I missed seeing this, but is there a way to make a macro wait for a button push before proceeding? Specifically, my wife usually forgets to take out discs after playing. I have written a "device" page that displays a wide button that does nothing but displays the text "IS THE DISC REMOVED?". Under this is one button that is "NO" and one that is "YES". When I jump to the page, I want the macro to wait for button push. When "YES", complete the macro. When "NO", execute a couple of commands then wait for "YES" before completing the macro.

Thanks,
Charlie

Use more than one macro. Have your initial macro take you to the page asking the question which prior to the actual page jump could include the sending of any commands which aren't impacted by whether the condition is met or not, i.e. has the disc been removed. On the page asking the question the "Yes" and "No" buttons would contain their own macros respectively. Choosing "No" could eject the disc only. Whatever you want it do to. Choosing "Yes" would send the remaining commands assuming the condition has been met ending with a jump to your target page, i.e. "Listen" or "Watch" page for example.

Lowpro - Thanks for rebooting my train of thought. I got so wrapped around the axle thinking of convoluted logic that it slipped my mind that when you jump to a page, the software inherently waits for a button or event. I think your suggestion will do just what I need. I will have the "NO" button execute commands to clear a tracking variable and open the player tray to remove the disk, but not jump after. That should leave everything on the current page. After disk is removed "YES" will close the tray, execute a couple more commands and then jump to the next page in the sequence. If this does not work I will be back for more help, but I think this will do just what I needed.

When you jump to a page the software doesn't inherently wait for a button or event. The page jump as I described will simply be the last step or page jump within the initial macro. The remote at that point is waiting for a button to be pressed, because the initial macro has finished running. Has nothing to do with the fact a page jump took place. The remote is done its work until the user presses another button on the remote, the "No" and "Yes" buttons containing their own macros to be run if selected. You are on the right track now though. Enjoy!

Have you tried adding OPEN/Eject to your power Up macro. Power up dvd, open/eject, jump to dvd page.

That is basically what I do for start up and operation. What I am trying to do is remind the operator to check if the disk is removed when leaving the DVD or CD activity. When another activity is selected, the program jumps to the "Disc Removed Check" first and waits for a reply, then proceeds to the desired activity.

you could also (with variables) have this be run ONLY when coming out of DVD/CD to something else or with power off only if the DVD/CD was used during that session... maybe you have done that already.

After I first read this, I wondered what actions the "NO" response might start. I couldn't think of any except jumping to a page that says "Well, now, you're an idiot, aren't you?"

Now I see you could have a page that says, instead, "Well, now, you're an idiot, aren't you? I'll just go ahead and eject that disc for you."

This could be amusing if a cabinet door must be opened to make room for the tray when it's out.

The bit about getting stuck in your thinking? That happens to all of us. I continually recommend backing up one step or more and thinking "what exactly do I want to do here" when getting stuck like that. Sometimes we come up with silly ways to handle things because we've concluded that something must be done... and we came up with something silly to start with.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
