Hi, this is my first post on here.

I'm a long time reader and I know this might spark a debate on weather or not I should even be programming my own remote but I have hope that it doesn't!

I have tried looking for a similar topic but couldn't find anything relating to what I'm after.
I have an MX-5000 and have CCP and I've competently programmed all that I've required.
However if possible I would like to take my remote to the next level.

I currently have individual channel icons for Foxtel on my touchscreen.

My question is;

Is it possible to program IP code to to retrieve online TV guide info so that when I press and hold a channel icon I receive a text display of what is currently on without changing to the channel it's self?

Here is a link the the webpage that I would like to retrieve from and please feel free to edit if linking such page isn't ok with this site:

[Link: foxtel.com.au]

Any input would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Pedro

Appreciate that Matt, it would be cool though!

Any suggestion on a way to get any form of tv guide to display?

Cheers

Yes, I can bring the foxtel menu/guide up, but then lose picture wilts browsing it.

It would be cool when I have people over and I want to see if there is better better viewing without disturbing what is being viewed.

Im a power user and haven't exceeded the mx-5000's capabilities yet so i was thinking anything is possible!

Oh and no smart tv as such, the remote is in a home theatre room with projector.

Just so we all understand. Are you trying to have something come up on the display of the remote or on the screen using the projector?

On the remote.

That's what I thought you meant. The answer is no.

To do something like this you would need a much more powerful control system (and much more expensive). For example, Crestron.
