I recently purchased a used MX-900, and while trying to configure it, I found that the remote seems to send out the same signal more than once, or else for too long a period of time. It's sending my AppleTV into fits, and it won't turn the Philips tv on without immediately turning it off again (it uses a power toggle signal). Is there a way to adjust the length of the standard signal emission?

Yes, you can adjust repeats. Usually set to 3, try setting to 1 or 0 to solve problem.

How do I accomplish this? I try clicking on a button, selecting program, IR Database, select custom, and then choose the relevant command, ensure repeats is adjusted down, and then drag and drop it onto the correct button, save, close the IR database view, and download, but it makes no difference. The TV turns on and off 3 times when I try to use the power button, and the volume on any device is comical to watch. Tap the button once, and it flies up or down to either end of the spectrum. I have to hold my hand over the end of the remove to get anything done.

Sorry, I am a novice with this software, but it just seems to be missing obvious options. It seems that the default for any button press is to send out repeat signals spasmodically, and I can't seem to figure out how to adjust repeats.

I would consult (and pay) a professional programmer if you want to understand how to program URC remotes. They spend a lot of time and money learning these programs, and would be very helpful in tweaking your remote.

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to my questions. As it turns out the remote I was trying to program was defective, and that was why I was having so much trouble. I just got a replacement of the same model, and it is working wonderfully now. Thanks again for your time.

Well, good. I'm sure glad to hear THAT problem is not lurking in the future for any of us!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.
