I will stock MX780s and MX890s as well as MRF350, but I will NOT sell a MX450. It is time consuming to program on my end, and creates too many phone calls if I leave it up to clients to program. It's just not worth it for me.

One time I decided to torture myself and programmed three mx450s to control an msc400. Had to teach the triggers using an mx980. True story bro.

Thanks for your answers, I was also wondering if the 980 was a 'stockable item' or if the cost was too high to do so?

I would only stock items that are easy add ons. The 980 is a bit expensive to just keep on a shelf.

Hit all price points.

the 450 is fairly useless if you want discretes unless you are x-learning from a pir-1. I don't know what anyone would spend the money on an mx5000 when you can get TC for the price of that remote. It's absolutely insane. Have you ever tried to enter wifi information in that thing manually using the on-remote keypad? Hell, for a $1200 you can practically get into a savant smart host system.

I think mx880,900,980 should cover 99% of customers. And really the distinction between those is what kind of graphics one would want and if variables are important to you. Just my humble opinion. It's not a slam.

We used to stock the 450 until the 780 came out. For the extra $50, there's no reason to carry or support the 450 any longer.

MX780, MX980 (transitioning eventually to 890 once I have time to create all my templates). MRF260 and MRF350, plus a few extra rfx antenna's.

900's will be gone by the end of the rear, and 880/980 should also follow suit around the same time so be aware.

More likely we'll see the demise of the MX350/850/3000 by end of year before MX880/900/980- too many guys still on these remotes to drop them, as I'm told.

I still have a few 450s to clear out and then the 780 will be entry level.

I do not set up wifi on a 5000. It is a waste of time and will either be worthless or so low performance that it is better to skip it. However, it pays to have a higher priced option. Some just like it and choose it when presented to them. Just sayin.

Ok, either I am experiencing a case of déjà vu or you have posted this exact post before.

You set up WiFi on the 5000 through the software. No need to use the interface on the remote.
