I'm trying to create an "off" macro for an epson powerlite 8100 projector. I have found no discrete power commands for this unit.

I'm trying to use the usual:

"Power"
1 sec delay
"Power"

Whats incredibly frustrating, is that I can manually go into the device on the remote and press the "power" button twice to turn off the projector.

I can also test the macro with the remote attached with a usb cable and it works perfectly.

The moment I download the programming to the remote, the projector doesn't see any of the off commands - it doesnt even show the "are you sure you want to turn off?".

I'm aiming the remote directly at the projector when trying to use this macro.

What could cause this?

Are you using a basestation? Are codes in the macro properly aliased or did you drag them from the IRDB?

Yes, using a base station. I've checked for interference (flickering red light on the MRF-260 - I'm generally very cautious using these but this one seems to be fine), I used the record button to build the macros....tried different power codes from the IRDB as well. I found some other commands for power in some of the other RC threads that I plan on trying.

One thing I'm realizing I didn't do is use the learn-twice feature

Learn twice is just for learn phillips codes. I'm pretty certain that the Epson uses NEC codes. Did you drag codes from the IRDB into the Macro window, or did you drag them from the IRDB, do your device, and the alias the codes in the macro?
