for single ir commands you have to use thr IR database navagator to find the code you want. i dont believe there is a copy/paste way to do it like in the 3000
|

You can create a 1 step macro that records the button you need.

you need. Thats usually the best thing to do also ... In case your routing the IR to different emitters / or using IR for one device , rf for another.

As Mike and Greg said Copy and Paste is simple enough but, as cafeinated stated, be aware that if you are copying and pasting to another device the command will be routed to the device in which you pasted it. In other words if you take your TV's aspect command which might be set to IR only and paste it to your cable page which is routed to Port1 your TV Aspect command will now be routed to IR port1 instead of sent IR to the TV. In this scenario a single step macro would be the only way to go.

Probably cause copy/paste are supposed to be on context menus. If I hadn't read about it on this site a long time ago, I never would had known about it.

Jon my post wasnt meant to ridicule anyone..... just to point out how we come up with complex solutions for the strangest problems, yet a lot of people here didnt seem to know the simple copy and paste solution. I am sure there are a lot of similar things I am unaware of also. In fact the only way I knew it is because I tried it once and it worked.

I wasn't picking a fight with you either.
I was just pointing out a long-standing flaw in the MX Editor software. If it supports Copy/Paste then those words should appear in the menu and in the right click context menu. That's just standard windows programming for something like the past 20 years?
If it wasn't a hidden feature, noone would be surprised to find it there.
Heck, if they wanted to go crazy they could allow you to view more then one page at the same time and just drag 'n drop keys from one device to another. Or better yet, add a right-click drag and drop which would prompt you whether you wanted to copy a shortcut, copy a learned code, copy a device code, copy macro, etc.
