My parents have a ZT60 65" plasma. I have programmed the MX-980, and it works well for the most part. I actually use the CCP's database codes for the VT50 (or something like that--the closest previous model in the database). Almost everything works flawlessly, but there is one problem: when I try to navigate the menu using the arrow buttons, the television seems to be receiving my arrow presses twice. So instead of moving down one selection, I actually move down two. I try to go back up one to get to the item I want, and I skip right over it, again and again and again. I have tried setting "Repeat" to 1, but it didn't seem to work. What can I do to make the menu usable? Thank you.

Are you using a rf base station (i.e. mrf350, msc400, MRF260, etc..) or using it ir line of site?

If you are using rf try:

1) adjusting the trim settings on the top or the back of the unit depending on the model.

2) go into the rf base station settings in the programming software and assign each ir port and make sure they are not set to all.

3) try slightly moving the ir flasher on the front of the tv (this is how is resolved the issue with my VT50).

I own a VT50 and had to mess with this on my system a little. I have a URC Total control system so the settings might be a little different, but one of these should resolve your issue.

If you are using ir only:

1) try a different code set.

2) or you could also import the hex commands or try learning the commands, but I would imagine you won't end up trying either one of these because one of the codes sets should work.

Thanks,
Matt

Last resort, learn the buttons in question. Try a press and hold until it learns, or just a quick press and release or something inbetween
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

I've had problem with G25 and now with the ZT60. I lowered the repeat to one got same result so I learned code from remote and still double press remained.

I turned off the repeat key when pressed on each of the arrow keys and it works. As expected, you just have to press button as many times as it takes to get there.

Thank you, everyone. I tried everything MattBrotzge mentioned without success, even though they seemed like great ideas. I even tried learning the code from the remote as cb1 said, but the repeated pressed remains! I finally tried what Hart2Hart said. While I had previously decreased "Repeat" to 1, I still had "Repeat While Key Is Pressed" (or whatever it's called) checked. Once I unchecked it, the buttons stopped the double-pressing action. Thank you, Hart2Hart. It's too bad I can't hold down the buttons to repeat them anymore, but at least I can move one step at a time.
