i have a remote control for my stb and don't have a brand name on it. the only thing i see in the battery compartment is a sticker with a URC17952-03R00. i googled it and can't find anything about it.

please can you help me out with my remote. my stb is not responding on it. but it works perfectly on our tv. i tried the troubleshooting by my providers site, called the support and gave me the right code. but it doesn't make a difference, my stb is still not responding on it. my remote is issued together with my Skyworth HS8871 HD provided by our local cable/stb company which is Cignal Digital TV...

please help me re-program it to make it work on my stb... thanks...

Is this a generic remote that came with the STB? IF so you likely have something like this;

or here [Link: universalremote.com] under cable

If this is a remote provided by the cable/sat company I would suggest calling them as they should be responsible for it.

Not all remotes starting with urc- prefix are made by URC, UEI uses it too.

Can you take a picture of the remote?

Bradix, as Ch8 indicated, the cable company should be responsible for your remote and your stb. Usually they can just give you a new remote without changing out your stb.
