Guys.

I purchased a Total Control system a while back and my guy has now gone out of business. I need some assistance as I have recently moved and need to revamp my system. Any assistance would be welcomed.

Sounds fun. What kind of TC gear do you have other than MRX-10?

You must have those very old first gen zr1. I have never actually seen one. Do they not come in as HID when connected to the computer?

How are you powering your TKP?

I assume you have the software so you can download to your 780s? I bet their Firm is ancient as well.

PM.

Are you a dealer and just not familiar with the software? The 780s cannot be dumped into from afar.

PM.

It's a little refreshing to see a post that isn't about stand alone editors or to see someone who legitimately has some earnest questions about a different piece of software, even though this is the CCP forum. Do you still have your dealer login to the control room? I am sure if we cannot get things straight here, that other forums can help as well.

Here's the tricky thing: That ZR1 is going to make your life tough. If the program can be uploaded out of the MRX10, Accelerator isn't going to open it because it has the unsupported ZR1 in it. I've had some older programs that wouldn't open anymore because of the old part and the newest version of Accelerator just don't jive and URC tech support was able to open it and delete the ZR1.

That may have changed in more recent updates, I can't test it anymore as I can't add my old ZR1 to a program to check.

I've got to interject here. I spend a lot of time on the forums, and though I haven't seen this old zr1 (I see the warning when I DL into the MRX-10), I have seen many, many TC jobs. This is the first that I have heard or read about an old ZR1 in programming stopping a program from uploading from mrx-10. Accelerator doesn't even know what firm your zr1 (or two) devices are at unless they are hard wired to the computer via usb. It doesn't poll or pull that info over their (proprietary) wireless signal.

The ZR1 can still be gotten from URC and it still works. I have many jobs that have it installed right now.

If this is truly a documented issue, can you post a link from Control Room either here or PM it?

If it is an issue, why not use an old version of Accelerator? I always keep my old versions of software. The frequency with which I've seen Accelerator update (sometimes 4 times in a day) and also break stuff in its wake, it is good to have an old exec laying about.

Since you claim in a previous post you've never seen a ZR1, it doesn't have a USB port so Windows of course cannot recognize it as a HID, it's firmware can't be updated and you cannot add one to a project. Just look for that device in the current build of Accelerator, it's not there.

I didn't say it won't upload out of a MRX10 project, I said the file won't open in Accelerator. I know this because I had some old test systems I created that included the ZR1 and after a point in time Accelerator was updated and any file including a ZR1 would no longer open.

The ZR1N is a different part, easily distinguishable by the USB mini jack on it.

Yes. I did begin my post by stating that I had not encountered one. I freely admitted from moment one that there was a strong possibility that I was fundamentally wrong in my assertion.

URC naming strategy isn't wonderful. I had forgotten they added the "n" which I assumed was left out in the post in a typing error. (Happens all the time).

I appreciate the information. The ZR1 does sound like a nightmare.

I'm sorry it has gone down the ZR1 road. The ZR1 has LONG since been removed from my project, because it was incompatible with the upgraded FW on the TRC780s.

The issue is the remotes are no longer recognized by Accelerator via USB when the project is attempted to be pushed via USB to the remotes.

The remotes have FW 1.0.0.53, IR 0.5.1.50 and Z/B 0.0.0.50

Thoughts on why the remotes are no longer recognized via USB? The devices have been uninstalled in Windows and added back with "new drivers" (no sure if the new USB drivers are correct or no) and show up as URCHID

Thoughts... Suggestions...

Accelerator does recognize the MRX10 and MRX1 via IP.
