Anyone take apart their remote to clean the inside? The feel of the buttons have just feel worn out and have a bad response to the user. Some buttons even stick a little and then start working if you work with the button for a little while. I haven't taken apart a remote in a while since there was never any need but several original 880's are starting to fail. I wish I had a schematic blow up of the remote. They are well out of warranty range but I know sometimes they are difficult as heck to get apart. Makes me miss my old MX-850 tank. They don't make them like that anymore. Was a monster but held up really good.

MX-850 is still in their line...

Just from cleaning other electronic devices would a lightly damp (not soaked) micro fiber cloth not work if you rub/clean each button accordingly?

I have taken a few apart and cleaned AROUND the buttons with alcohol. You would be surprised how much gunk can get around the button edges and button holes to hamper proper operation. However, I would be careful what you touch as you can do damage (electronics or the carbon impregnated buttons for those types of buttons). Q-tips are good for this if you are careful (I can't stress that enough - since you CAN brick one, been there, done that).
