I just got a new MX 1200. I am replacing a MX 980 with this new remote. I do have some experience with CCP, although I am far from being a programming guru...

I am basically starting from scratch with the 1200 programming, attempting to have the same exact programming as the 980 had for this room. I'm pretty close to being done, but have ran into a small irritant that I don't know what I did wrong.

On the main page screen, I have "If" macro's programmed for each device. I have them programmed to Jump to the device page if the press time is less than 1 second. If the press time is equal to, or greater than one second, the input changes on my AVR to this device input, and then it Jumps to the device page.

This worked just fine on the 980. I have the 1200 macro programmed exactly as the 980, but when I quickly touch the device button, to simply bring up that device's page, it also commands the AVR to select that input.

Thinking that the touch screen might be thinking I am holding button longer than I am, and triggering the additional command to change the AVR input, I moved the press time to 3 seconds. This did not help. Is this a glitch, or do I have to program the IF command differently for the 1200 than the 980?

Suggestions?

In a remote area of Alaska....? Lot's of effing "professional" installers running around here.

I've been programming these damn URC, PC based remotes for over ten years.

Personally I would do your if/then in reverse. Press & hold, jump to the device.
But regardless, make your button press 2 secs, instead of 1. Something about a touch screen that lacks the sensitivity of a hard button... such as you had on the MX980.

I do this all the time on all the URC remotes, even the MX1200. But on the MX1200 I found I had to increase the time to 2 or more secs to make it work reliably.

Yeah when you are away from all the installers you do not have that option. I am in Shanghai I know the feeling :-)..

This seems like a very helpful reply/post. I thought ppl use this forum to get ideas/help/advice offer support? It seems as though you have made it a point to troll the CC forum and bash anyone that ask a question.

mdrew ; playing with the timing should help but could you explain your layout a little more as to why you want a press and hold to change input and devices rather then 1 page with the different activities??

A little more work but you could add an activity page and power page with you if else statements so there would be no need for a press and hold function.

I am a big fan of 2 presses and your home option. Using a mx5000 I have a main page Watch and listen. clicking on watch brings up SAT, Bray and HTPC. Clicking on TV changes all the inputs/power on and jumps to fav. I use one of the soft buttons on the MX5000 to jump back to watch activites. If I press Bray again sat turns off, turns on Bray, and changes the AVR input.
