Hi,

I just moved from a MRF-350 to a MSC-400. I cannot get my Soundbar to respond to the hardwired IR signals (using the IR Input on the back of the unit). It worked just fine with the MRF 300 and 350. Still works with that if I put one of them back in-line. I tried different ports on the 400 and no luck. IR works fine.....

Tried relearning codes on the 400, Tried different cables, Tried adjusting the output (although I don't think that has any effect for hard wired IR connections).

The 400 receives the signal and processes the output. All my other devices work just fine (2 Tivos, Sony TV, Blu-ray Player, Pre-Amp, Slim Streamer....)

Any suggestions????

I'm stumped.

The remote is a MX-980.

Thanks,

Hopefully this is not a dumb question....can I hang the 350 off the 400 using a RF out connection. I know the 350 works fine with the soundbar.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply...I'm a bit confused. The manual says (figured it was a good place to start)... "The RF out on the Master unit can also be connected to the RF in on a MRF-350 or MRF-300 for control of devices located away from the MSC-400."

Is this false? I realize I cannot drive the output via the 400 logic, but it should respond to the logic (macros) in the remote.

Update - The 300 is working fine being fed the RF signal from the MSC-400. The problem is the Zvox unit and it's finicky IR IN on the back of the box. Digging into the manual it says this port is to be used by ZVOX....Not exactly sure what that means. Hopefully this will help anyone else having a problem.

Well there you go. I remember asking URC tech support that same question years ago and was told no.

They know their product well!
