Before I start... I feel this is going to be one of those moments when you go how stupid could I be?

I've got a MSC400 and a MRX1 and they work together to give me great standard control and control from and ipad / iphone.

Yesterday I had Comcast X1 installed. Instead of putting all boxes in media room, I put them near each TV so I could reclaim couple matrix input ports and fix minor issues with HDMI matrix switcher. This all works great.

To control the two cable boxes that are in living and master bedroom, I installed a MRX-2. The problem is I can not get it to be recognized in CCP. I assigned the MRX2's MAC address an IP address via router DHCP reservations. I can ping the MRX2 and the MRX2 indicator for Ethernet is on and the port leds are flashing -- just will not be "discovered" by CCP.

For short term, I'm thinking I can just use it as standard RF base station by setting a unique base station id since it is hooked to antenna. I understood that ios module could be used by two MRX units in the same home as long as registered MRX was on same network with other one.

Only thing a little odd is that CCP (which is updated) does not show MRX2 as a base station so I used MRX1. Where is the MRX2 entry or is what I did okay?

The MRX-2 is definitely in CCP, has been for weeks now. It shows up in System Configurator in between the MSC-400 and MRX-1. Of course you need to add it from there and then you should be able to see it and manipulate its IP address, see its MAC address etc. Trying to set it up as an "MRX-1" when it's really an MRX-2 is not going to work. Keep in mind firmware updates etc. for these devices are unique and will come to you by virtue of it being properly identified in your system file as what it is - an MRX-2. Take another look in "Configure Home" aka the System Configurator and make absolutely sure you have updated CCP just for giggles.

Remotivate, thanks for confirming MRX2 should be in list. I had updated CCP so I went exploring in the universal remote program files directory. The MRX2 directory and driver file existed. However, the CCP_Device.ini file did not include it. Added line for MRX2.dll and we appear to be in business.

Thanks again, like I said feel a little stupid -- should have checked this area out to begin.

No worries, glad you found it. Just FYI as well on the MRX-2's - there has been a bug in CCP for weeks that an assigned RF ID would not be saved properly - basically the GUI would revert to showing RF ID 00 no matter whether you chose an ID other than 0 and saved it or not. It was super annoying, you basically had to take on faith that the setting was being assigned properly. The GUI lied to you in other words on the actual integer for that field. As of this latest CCP update, the bug is fixed, and when you assign your RF ID to an MRX-2, it saves it properly and displays it properly as well. Of course, it was easy enough to test out after a change but it's nice when a GUI doesn't lie to you :-)

Thanks for the heads up. Everything is working well and I'll attempt to utilize MRX2 from iOS in next few weeks.

I'm (and my wife) actually enjoying the Comcast X1 platform. Don't know how it compares to Direct and Dish but superior to prior generation from Comcast.
