I have a project going on where we are using a MX-900i with a MRF-350i to send IR commands to a Crestron DMPS-300-C via it's IR in which will trigger functions in the Crestron program. I have the Crestron portion all set and I think I have the grasp of how the macros for the buttons are created on the URC remote.

The one thing I can't figure out is how do I add new devices to the IR database? Is it possible to creature a IR driver for the URC database manually by typing in the hex values?

Thank you.

You can import hex to a button using the Universal browser located under tools.

you don't create drivers with URC. (unless you are using Total Control) you create devices that contain buttons that hold the codes.  you can import hex codes onto blank buttons using the Universal Browser, like musictoo mentioned, or you can learn in your own commands.  you can also drag codes from URC's database onto your buttons.

you then need to keep track of what project files contain the devices you created if you want to use these devices in another project.   these devices can be imported into other projects.

i believe urc already has crestron trigger commands in their database.

Look under AUX, then Crestron.

I tried looking in the Aux/Crestron section. None of the options have 64 buttons in them.

So I tried opening up the universal browser and then clicking the hex button on the menu bar. A window appeared and I typed in the first command. However I can't drag the command to a button. I'm trying to drag the command using the last menu item on the right that looks like a cross hair with the word drag to the left of it.

I'm trying to drag from that menu item to the macro section of the button that is selected. Am I missing a step?

Thanks

Never mind I figured it out. They split the built in database driver into two separate pieces. Thanks Duct Tape!
