I have an mrf-350 RF base station using a blaster on the front. My MX-450 remote runs my sharp 70 inch led TV just fine in IR mode. The RF side will not control the TV but does all my other units in home theater. Has anyone seen this? My TV also has an Aquos link I do not use
Thanks Danny

I'm not clear on if you are just using the blaster or emitters, so I will explain what to do assuming you are using emitters, which you should 100% absolutely do. The little piece you place on the tv is called an emitter, not blaster. The blaster is built into the basestation which just shoots signal out the front of the unit. I can't remember if the MX450 allows you to turn on the blaster or not. Do you have the remote set correctly with the tv set for RF and is it assigned to that emitter port? Can you see the emitter flashing? It has to be placed in a specific spot to work. If its off even the slightest, it might not work. Also, it's usually best to turn the intensity up all the way on the emitter port.

The blaster is never the recommended usage of the basestation. Use the emitters if you want it to be reliable.

Ditto, especially from ten feet away
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

Just move the base closer to the system and attach IR emitters. The blaster on the front is to be used when the equipment is enclosed in a cabinet and the doors are closed.

To use the blaster to control the tv line of sight? Hello, just set the remote to shoot IR to the tv directly and be done. Oh, I hope the tv isn't in another room...
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Haha, thats priceless Tom. I guess weirder things have happened than watching TV in a room that has no TV.

THANKS GUYS, I have used a Pronto blaster in line of sight for many years without communications errors as the URC is exhibiting. All your input is greatly appreciated. I cannot use ir emitters in my setup. The equipment is on lets say display for no better term. I-will be forced to stay IR on this set up and not take advantage of an RF setup from URC. Funny as per urc their blaster is good for 15 to 20 feet in line of sight cases. Again all your feedback is appreciated and noted.

I think the blaster built into the end of the remote works at that distance too. Why do you even have the MRF?

Blaster is on mrf 350, remote sends out IR via line of site. It also sends out RF, mrf 350 receives it and spits out signal via emitters( preferred) or thru blaster on mrf 350 allowing doors to be shut or in another room. I have been using the mrf 350 for years on hundreds of installs and have NEVER used the blaster!
Just my opinion
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!
