Just purchased a Samsung bd- f5900 3d- blue ray player and I'm trying to add the device to my mx450. The only thing I can get the remote to do it turn the player on and off.. Anyone have the correct code I've tried all the pre loaded and tried learning it with the remote..

there are no discrete codes. you have to use the Play command to turn it on.
And to turn it off, use the following macro
Play Delay 5 Seconds Power Toggle

if you are using an RF basestation then the macro is very reliable. if not, then yes, get a Sony. then you don't have to hold the remote pointed at the bluray player for 5 seconds.

oh, i misunderstood, i read that backwards.
you may be using the wrong codeset. have you used the mx450 updater tool and updated the remotes firmware and ir database? once you do that look for the samsung dvd codeset 352. that should be the set that works for you.

LOL no problem.. I did update it and I tried code 352, maybe I should update it again?? This is the only device giving me trouble to learn, starting to think I should just get a different unit since I just bought it and can return it.. any suggestions on a decent 3d unit?

no, you shouldn't have to update again.
i'm assuming you tried the other codesets as well? maybe this samsung model just uses a codeset that urc doesn't have in the database yet. you could always learn the codes if you didn't want to get a different player.
