I hate to bump a year-old thread so I started a new one, but I'm having the exact same problem with MX-980s and MRF-350s. Macros don't send all commands unless I have 0.5sec delays between commands OR don't use IR routing.

URC tech support has looked at my file, which sends the same macro to an MRF-350 set to ID 0, with no, 0.1s, and 0.5 second delays between commands. They said it works fine on their end.

Anybody with an MX-980 and MRF-350 who wants to take a look? I'd be interested to see if you see flashing on IR port 3 ("Integra Receiver" device) in the first 1 second after macro button is pressed.

on the URC forums it was said that recently purchased MX980s only need a .1 second delay between macro commands.   i haven't tested this out yet since .5 seconds between steps don't really bother me and i know it will work.

In my experience it is only necessary to put in .5 second delays if you are sending commands to different devices in the same macros.  favorite channel macros for instance ,don't need a .5 second delay.

What Duct Tape said. I had that issue with more than several 980/350 combos. .5 seconds all day long buddy! Of course URC had never heard of that before. :) Ironically, I will be programming a 980/350 this weekend for the first time in ages. I will surely not forget the delays now!

Yeah, I’m not likely to forget it now. I’m thinking about etching “USE 0.5s DELAYS” on the front and back of every MX-980 and MRF-350 combo I do from now on to save the next guy the headache.

All I can say to the “0.1s spacing should work” is that it didn’t; 0.2s didn’t either; and that all the MX/MRFs were manufactured this year. I didn’t get as far as setting up favorite channels once the day turned in a macro troubleshoot, but what you said about only needing delays between codes sent to different devices make sense, Duct Tape.

Considering also sending both MX and MRF back to URC so all they have to do is plug it in and see what I’m talking about since they can’t reproduce with what they had on the bench.

I have used .02 delay since the 980 came out! No issues.
why have a nice system if you cant operate it, program the remote the right way the FIRST time!

do you router your ir devices to a specific IR port, or just leave it set to All?

I *always* put delays between commands. It's safer. If there is still a problem, you can double up on command(s) in question or move them to a different step in the macro. I think you'll find this much more effective.

One thing you can do is test via IR and unplug the MRF/RF antenna to see if the macros are effective from the remote or not. However, your best bet is still to include .5 second delays. Unless you have 20 command macros, your client will not notice a slightly longer time to process the macro with delays.
