I actually don't sell all that many remotes and it's been a while since I've looked for the best products for my clients' needs. With that in mind, and the news that the URC website has been updated, I want to check it out.

I decided to start with the MX-780. In the dealer section I found this information. Remember, in the dealer section. For dealers.

Your custom installer will work with you to configure your MX-780 to your taste so that it’s the perfect companion for any room in the house you choose.

Uh, that's not aimed at me.

Featuring a beautiful OLED Color Screen & easy programming you can't go wrong!

That's not aimed at me either, because this is to impress the end user. But he can't program it, so it's not aimed at him, either! It's also two sentences, though a pity comma would have sufficed.

The MX-780 Remote Control provides the reliability you need when controlling your entertainment system. It’s gorgeous 1.46” OLED screen gives you a higher contrast ratio than LCD screens and uses less energy as well – this means you’ll enjoy more vibrant and deeper color levels, especially in low light settings!

Again, pap for the end user.

Tell me: is there a place where URC products are described and, oh, I don't know, I'm told whether the display is a touch screen or not; whether the artworks are captive to specific areas or totally able to be customized (size, too)? Is there a place for the DEALER to get RELEVANT information? How about the retail price? The type of connector for programming? Are there any punchthrough problems with the color buttons (not likely to see that information, are we?)

If not, then we at RC are even freakin' beta testers for the MARKETING division!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

You can also do their online URC University training through Blue Volt, accessible through the dealer portal.

It seems like you've found all the end-user facing information which is designed for the end-user. Mission accomplished.

Ernie...

You are looking at the Consumer-Facing website that is meant for the consumer.

Yes what you are looking for already exists, it is called the "URC Knowledge Center" and it is only accessible if you have a URC Control Room Login/Password.

On the Knowledge Center there are specifications on the right that show the screen resolution, whether it is a touchscreen or not, etc. ALL exactly like you requested.

[Link: urccontrolroom.com]

The Knowledge Center contains much more dealer-specific information (granted 90% of the content is for TC at this time - I have written every single word in this Knowledge Center save for a few pages so I am getting to things as fast I can).

In the Control Room, our forums is a place you get information on specifics or ask a question if you have any... it's good to peruse through there so you can see what users are talking about / experiencing in the field with any specific product.

Product Pages are updates with new information over time which will include guides, instructions, cut sheets, etc.

Product Pages also include ultra-high resolution images that can be used in any marketing content you may want to create.

For comparison, you can visit the category pages in the URC Knowledge Center which list all products [Link: urccontrolroom.com] - you can then use category links on the right to narrow down which products are shown.

Please don't invite him to use the URC forum. It is bad enough dealing with him here.

I didn't want to be the one to say it ;-)
