I was having a problem between my Denon receiver and my Comcast Xfinity HD box because when I would raise the volume of the receiver the channel would change to 8. So, i bought an MRF-260 to solve the issue. I set it up in place and had no interference. I changed the receiver ID to 1 on the unit and in the software. I connected my Denon to IR flasher port 1. The cable box is on IR flasher port 2 (the variable outputs). I labeled them in the software. I have both set to IR and RF. The front blaster is on. If both pieces are on and I am working with within my Denon device, the volume commands only flash the Denon receiver and everything is fine. However, as soon as I switch devices to Comcast, the exact same volume commands flash both pieces (the flashers light up) and my original problem happens. How can it be if their set to different lines? Any advice..If not, I think I am gonna break down and pay a professional.

Not that this is the source of the problem, but you should not have the blaster set to on, especially when you have assigned IR ports. Also, it is best to set it to RF only.

As for the problem, I am not sure. I don't have Comcast in my area so I never work with their equipment. If you want to email me your file at [email protected] I will take a look at the file to see if anything stands out as an issue.

We've had the same problem with TW Samsung boxes and Denon receivers.

Thanks Goldenzrule! I followed your advice and turned off the front blaster and switched to RF for both pieces. If I gradually increase the volume, the problem is non- existent. However, if I hold the volume down, it happens once in a while. However, it is much better to live with now. It used to happen all the time. I appreciate the advice.
