I'm considering buying a used MX 3000 but after reading some posts how URC does not provide current software and support if you do not buy from an authorized dealer I am concerned a great deal for a number of reasons. Regardless, my situation is different in that I am not buying a new unit from an unauthorized dealer but buying a used unit from someone who previously purchased it. My question: will URC provide current software and access to their site to me as a purchaser of used MX 3000?
Thanks. I appreciate the quick reply. That's too bad and short sighted on their part. Under these circumstances, I'm off to buy a remote other than a product by URC. Another customer lost and left with a negative impression about URC.
I have been trying to switch the updatable software from one computer to another and didn't have any luck. I keep getting an error message "unable to connect to Live Update Server" It works fine on my other computer.
Any thoughts? I have the install program for a few of the remotes but once you install the complete control software the installer tool disappears.
Oh and I would pass on URC products as well. Great remote but it drives me crazy that I can't use the live update. Really not a big issue but most people like me can't handle having something that doesn't work even when it works.
My authorized dealer did provide me the updateable software but now only provides the regular version.
