I know with the MX-850 and MRF, it's not an issue. You can turn off IR and only use RF, making the IR emitter from the MRF the source of IR. However, I have my personal system set for both IR and RF with no problems. This solution will work without repeating commands.

They have problems with remotes with large LCD, like the mx-500, 700, and 850. I used the 418 mhz version with RF10 remote for about three years. They communicated with each other without the use of the battery gizmo. But in your case it willl not work.

I set up the remote and base today and everything works as needed. Same file for the 700 worked.
