I have programmed my remote and tested everything. However, I am having an interesting problem that I cannot solve. I have a Denon Receiver and an Xfinity Comcast box. If I want to turn the volume up while watching cable it changes the cable channel to channel 8. I have tried everything and I cannot fix the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem? I greatly appreciate any assistance.

It might help to list all the other equipment programmed into your remote (TV, receiver, etc if applicable). We're not mind readers on this forum.

I have a Denon AVR- 2802 and and Xfintity cable box. I am not asking anyone to be a mind reader. I can't be the only person with a Denon Receiver and a Comcast Xfinity HD box. My other gear works perfectly and there is no issue when controlling the volume. Thanks again!

If you press the vol+ button multiple times, what happens?

In the software, check the command you have on your vol + button. Also, check your punch through settings for the vol buttons. It sounds like a programming issue, not a hardware issue.

If you aren't able to figure it out, I can offer you a consultation and see if I can fix the file. Send me a message for details.

Hi Damon,

Thank you for your input. If I press the Vol. up button multiple times the volume does increase, however it goes to channel 8 continuously. I did not use punchthroughs when programming the remote. However, I will check the settings again. I have deleted the programming for the button numerous times and started over. I have tried saving the IR code again, using other Denon Receiver volume up commands that worked when tested, learning from the actual Denon Remote, and learning from my pronto. I did not have this problem with my old Comcast HD Box and pronto (I now have a different box). The Comcast IR code set I used for programming was XFINITY XR 2, codeset 195. I will let you know..Thanks!

We've had that happen with TW and Denon receivers. Have to IR route with a base station.

Musictoo's idea is the best for your situation. Just be sure to call URC and check that the MRF-350 or MRF-260 will work with the MX-950.

Thank you Damon and Musictoo! I have not had very much luck over the last few weeks. I finally finish programming my remote and the TV decides to die on me. I will call URC and find out. I would rather spend extra money to fix the problem. It was so aggravating! I realize that some on here program remotes as a profession and I truly appreciate the advice!
