Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out if its possible to have a button be held down and provide delayed repeats of one button on my MX-890. The issue I have is that when holding down an arrow key to scroll through menus, it scrolls way too fast. This is the same thing that happens if I use the original device's remote as well.

What I would like to do is be able to have it so that when I hold down the key to scroll, what it does instead is that it pushes the key once, waits 0.1 seconds, pushes the key again, waits another 0.1 seconds and then pushes the key again. I want this to keep repeating in a loop as long as the key is being held down.

Currently I have the "Repeat while button is pressed" selected but this results in scrolling that is far too fast when the button is held down.

Is there any way to have delays in the repeats while the button is being held down?

How long are the lists you are scrolling through? That the original factory remote has the same behavior tells me it's a device issue, not necessarily the remote.

If the lists are short enough you could uncheck Repeat while button is pressed and use a series of single button presses to navigate. Unless, of course, your lists are thousands of members long at which point I don't have an answer for you.

Hi Lowhz, thanks for responding.

I'm scrolling through a long collection of tv shows and movies on my HTPC so it is a pretty long list. The remote is emulating a keyboard "right arrow" push and the software that I use to play my media (Plex) does have a problem where if the right arrow key is pushed down it starts scrolling way too fast.

I was hoping to come up with a workaround to the issue that is inherent in the program by having a way for my remote to introduce delays while holding down the key.

Thank you.

I second this... it's what I recently did on an XBMC system that was a bit twitchy.
