Hi guys,

Need some help from the kind people on here.

ROOM #1: I have a MX-890 + MRF-350 with the MRF-350 set to Channel 1.

ROOM #2: I have a MX-780 + MRF-350 with the MRF-350 set to Channel 4.

When I use the MX-780 (Room #2) on RF only mode to send a signal, the MRF-350 in Room #1 is also picking up the signal and acting on it. Because both rooms have some of identical gear (namely an HTPC) this is causing issues.

Both base stations are set to only accept RF signals and no IR. What am I doing wrong? I thought that by having the two base stations on different frequencies, I wouldn't have any issues.

Also I did make sure that the channels for each remote's base station correspond to the channel set for each remote in CCP.

Thank you!

Guys, just to update this thread. I figured out what the issue was.

The short version: I'm a dummy.

The long version: I had accidentally plugged in one of the IR emitters on one of the MRF-350's into the "RF Out" port when I meant to plug it into IR Out #6. For some reason that was causing one remote to control both of the identical devices in the house.

Both rooms being used at the same time can also show this kind of behavior.

You are referring to crosstalk. This only occurs when a button is pressed on both remotes at the same time (I assume this is what you meant when you said both rooms being used at the same time). Even of you assign different IR ports, crosstalk issues can still occur.

The OP stated that his base stations were on different frequencies. That is not true. Unless he has a regular series in one room (418 MHz) and an i series in the other (433 MHz) then he has them on the same frequency. What he is referring to is the RF IF which is simply a different channel set physically on the base and remote in programming. Crosstalk will occur across different RF IDs. Having an i series in one room and a regular in the other should eliminate that problem.

In this case though, it appears the issue was simply due to a miswire which has been corrected.

goldenzrule, you're right once again. Both remotes are 418 MHz and I shouldn't have used the term different frequency.

But your detailed post did teach me something new, so thank you!
