Just wanted to give this FYI to anyone using a MSC-400 serial commands to directv boxes. I was just "upgraded" to a genie system and found that the mini genie clients do not run a full set of software and the only command they seem to accept via serial is off. :)
The main unit (hr44-700) works perfect and is much faster than any dvr I have used from them over the years. Going with regular HD boxes will resolve my issues as they still function via serial.

My issue now is they cannot seem to process my exchange in their computer system. They tell me they will send me regular HD boxes but I have made their computer system spawn an error that no one can seem to resolve.
