MX-850 Incapable of Learning Comcast XR2 Codes? So Frustrated...

Hi All-

I have been using this remote for a long time and am, for the first time, having issues with it not learning certain functions.

I just got a Comcast XR2 remote with the new X1 system and while the MX-850 was able to learn most of the codes it did not learn:

OK
EXIT
PAGE-DOWN
REPLAY

Obviously, OK and EXIT are critical… very frustrating!

I've tried both the off-line and connected methods of programming. Both appear to work (“Good!” messages), but all tests of these learned codes fail.

Firmware: 1.04
Universal Data (not really applicable…): 1.82

Is it possible that the MX 850 is incapable of learning these codes?

Has anyone had success with this combination of remotes? (If so, any chance you could send me a file?)

Are there other RF/IR remotes that I should use instead (that preferably do not cost megabucks)?

The MX–850 has worked wonderfully until today, but needless to say it needs to perform these functions. I’m tearing my hair out.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Update!

URC is the BEST. They reached out to me based on this thread and gave me some great advice.

Their new(?) built-in code set, "Cable 195," works on both my MX-850 and MX-800 for all functions except:

POWER -- this must be a unique PWR-ON code in XFINITY-land as it will not power-off the box. I was unable to teach the remotes this finction from teh Xfinity remote at all, so at least we can turn stuff on now.

TV-ON -- Doesn't work, but I successfully taught this function from the Xfinity remote, so no biggie at all.

I am WAY happier now.

Thanks so much, URC, for your help!

Any help would be appreciated. I progrsameed this 850 years ago and it gas worked great. Now I am trying to re-learn how I did that.

Did you ever find out how to access Cable 195 codes for MX-850?

Probably LiveUpdate will bring in a newer database.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Yes, X1 195 codes are in the current database. Cable - Comcast - XFinity - IR Only
