Misplaced my MX-700 cable, can't seem to find anyone who sells replacements.
If anyone has any ideas, please advise.

I have corrected this post from an MX-500 to a MX-700.

Are you sure its mx-500 model #? Because mx-500 didn't use cable for programming.

When I make changes to the Windows program there is a cable for loading the data from the computer to the remote.
The remote has a connection for a large phono plug.

You most have a mx-700, mx-800, or mx-850. Or you have the outer shell of a mx-500 on one of the above remotes innerds. This is what the mx-500 shells have looked like:

It has 3, and guess what it says it is a MX-700, Home Theater Master.
I feel kind of stupid but I was convinced I had an MX-500. Thanks for
opening my eyes. It might be easier to find a cable now.

Also, if you're so inclined, you can make your own cable. It uses the same pinout as this:

Note that this is not the same as what an original classic Pronto uses - the Pronto's TD/RD are reversed.
