I am replacing an old Crestron system with the MX-450 / MX-350 combo. The previous installer hardwired a remote that controls the shades to the Crestron system. I dug around and found a wireless remote he had stashed with a CAT 5 hardwired in to it. I unhooked the Cat-5 from the Crestron system and found that when I touch:
The Orange Pair Together: Shades Go Down The Green Pair Together: Shades Stop The Brown Pair Together: Shades Go Up
Is there a way to complete the circuit using the 450/350 so that I can control UP / DOWN / STOP from the remote? Thanks!

No. You'll need relays to accomplish this.

Can the remote control the relays?

You would need an ir controllable relay. 3 of them. Xantech makes them.

Thanks, I just ordered one. I ordered this: [Link: amazon.com]Hopefully I don't need the remote to "learn" my MX-450 how to control it. I'm assuming there will be a pre-programmed device I can use?

You will need a 2nd module. Those only have 2 relays, and you require 3.
I'm not sure if the xantech codes are in the database. You may need to use another remote to teach the codes to the mx450.
You would be far better off using a ccp remote and ditch the mx450 for this job.

I can live with up and down and not stop. What is a CCP remote? Do you have a link to what you suggest and why CCP? Thanks.

Urc has a pc programmable line of remotes called Complete Control. They are programmed with the Complete Control Program (CCP).
once you learn the software it is much easier to program the type of system you are doing.
