Well the posters were right. My MRF-250 does not work with my Integra AVR and I read that is because the IR signals are not buffered. I switched it to a MRF-350 per everyone's advice.

I have one more MRF-250 I need to replace in the garage. It only control 1 thing. Another Integra stereo out there.

Is the MRF-260 buffered so that it works with the Integra? Is there an even cheaper base unit that will work?

Weird thing about my MRF-250 and the Integra. When I use an IR emmiter, it does not work on any port, when I wire it to the IR input, it does not work, when I select "all" (blaster and all ports) it does not work. It only works in "blaster" mode

The MRF260 has two ports that are adjustable. However, we've had a LOT of problems with reliability with them. We stopped selling them a while ago and only offer the MRF350 now. Minimal problems with those.

It's probably more of a compatibility issue with your remote. What's the serial #/date of production inside the battery compartment?

"All" does not include the Blaster, only "Blaster" includes the IR blaster.

Its probably more an issue of emitter placement or output strength. either to strong or to week...or a bad emitter in general. Also as stated, what remote are you using?

I have 2 remotes. MX-900 and MX-980. I only tried the MX-900. I did try different emitters with same bad result.

serial number of MRF-250 is either K042406 or 097447 (this is what was on the sticker)

serial on mx-900 is B121007 0113306

and if someone could tell me what "buffered" means, that would be great. Always like learning new things

I feel so stupid. I bought this Integra Receiver that I use in my garage used.

I figured out why the IR emitters did not work. Its because the original owner put a pieces of electrical tape over the whole IR area and it looked like part of the receiver. The blaster and the OEM remote could penetrate it, but not the emitters.

So I peeled it off and the emitters work. However I still can not get int IR input into the receiver to work.

It strange that the emitter, blaster work, but not a direct connection.

Its an MRF-250 as I have stated and I have to use an adapter from 2.5 mm to 3.5 so I can use a 3.5 mm cable to the IR input. Maybe all those adapters makes it so it doesnt work.

There is plenty equipment with a "IR In" on the back, mostly not compatible however. In most cases there are polarity or voltage differences that cause the problem, so don't think it's the base station alone.
